‘The Way to the Heart’ to air on Super Channel

A movie that was shot in Prince George is making it’s way to Super Channel.

‘The Way of the Heart’ was shot in Prince George last year.

“This is just another crown jewel in Prince George being showcased on film as Prince George,” said Barker Street Cinema’s Norm Coyne.

“It’s pretty special that we’ve had the opportunity to make these movies about the city that we love and see it portrayed as the city that we love.”

The film is scheduled to appear on the channel multiple times throughout April, and it will be available for streaming from April 10th 2022 to September 30th 2023.

“It was a bit of a legacy picture for our Executive Directors Tom and Nada Newell,” Coyne explained.

“[Nada’s] father was a huge filmmaker in the German impressionist movement, and the file was an opportunity for her to jump back onto that legacy, and make a difference in the film industry in Prince George.”

Nada Newell passed away on December 31st, 2021 at the age of 81 after a battle with cancer.

The Super Channel synopsis of the film reads:

Ava is an award winning top chef at a big-city restaurant, but she’s lost her spark, and her boss sends her out ‘find herself’ and bring back her ‘fire’ to save her menu and her job. Trouble is, Ava has nowhere to go but home and home is anything but inspiring. She abhors the small town she left so long ago and her old curmudgeon of a father would rather work on his car than eat her fancy food… or talk to her for that matter. But when she re-meets her childhood friend, Logan, who’s an advocate for the local farmer’s market, Ava has to to get her head out of the clouds and her foot out of her mouth to rediscover her passion for food and The Way to the Heart.”
