UNBC Timberwolves Indigenous Jersey Reveal nets two awards

On October 20th, 2021, the UNBC Timberwolves became the first college or university athletic program to unveil an alternate logo and jersey designed by an indigenous artist.

UNBC, in collaboration with Lheidli T’enneh Elder Marcel Gagnon, Indigenous youth, 6ixSigma Productions, and a team of local drummers produced a one minute video of 11 student athletes.

The jerseys were designed by Trevor Angus.

Now, the team behind the video reveal has a pair of awards to show for it.

The video has been recognized as the Video of the Year and Top Social Media Campaign in the Canada West Sports Information & Digital Awards.
