B.C. Lions quarterback Nathan Rourke will undergo surgery for a sprain in his right foot and will be out for several weeks.
The 24-year-old Rourke was injured in Friday’s 28-10 victory over Saskatchewan.
The Lions are hoping he can return late this season.
B.C. is 8-1 at the halfway point of its schedule, just behind the 9-1 Winnipeg Blue Bombers.
Michael O’Connor will start at quarterback for the Lions in their rematch against Saskatchewan Friday in Vancouver.
Rourke leads the CFL in passing yards (3,281), TDs (25), and completion percentage (79.2).
