The Cops for Cancer Tour de North is entering its 21st season, and Prince George will have two riders make the 850km journey.
Constable Rob Warren and 911 Dispatcher Stacey Osiowy will be making the journey from Dawson Creek, through Prince George, and finishing in Williams Lake. They will be joined by BC Sherriff’s Superintendent Peter Wharton.
“[We] are really proud to be supporting two riders on the Tour de North team this year” said Cpl. Jen Cooper.
She said all proceeds will go towards childhood cancer research, and Camp Goodtimes, where “our pediatric cancer patients and their families can go to and have a camp experience with others who are going through similar experiences.”
So far, the Tour de North campaign has raised $83,100 for the 2022 ride. The end goal is $150,000.
The ride will start on September 14th and end on the 20th.
Cooper said there are about a dozen riders from all across the North District who will be making the journey.
