WHL:
The Prince George Cougars will play game three of the season tonight at 7:00 against the Kelowna Rockets.
They split their season-opening weekend with the Tri-City Americans 1-1 and will have Ethan Samson, and Ty Young back from NHL training camps.
Four players in tonight’s game are ranked to be selected in the first round of the 2023 NHL draft, according to Craig Button’s newest list:
- Riley Heidt – Prince George – 21st
- Andrew Cristall – Kelowna – 22nd
- Koehn Ziemmer – Prince George – 24th
- Caden Price – Kelowna – 26th
Tonight’s game will also be a special night dedicated to Truth and Reconciliation.
Earlier this month, we visited the former site of the Lejac Residential School with Elder Clifford Quaw of the Lheidli T'enneh and Chief Martin Louie of Nadleh Whut'en.
Tomorrow night, we commemorate National Day for Truth and Reconciliation.

The Kings got off to a hot 2-0 start on the road with 3-0 and 3-2 wins.
Vernon is 0-2 so far, losing 3-0 and 4-1 to Salmon Arm.
CFL:
The slumping BC Lions will host the Ottawa Redblacks tonight in Vancouver at 7:30. The Lions have gone 1-3 since the season-ending injury to Nathan Rourke, sliding from a battle for the league title to barely holding on to second in the division.
Ottawa could be the team to rebound against, with a 3-10 record this season, the worst of any team in the CFL.
The Roughriders and Blue Bombers also play at 5:00 today.
UNBC Soccer:
Both the men’s and women’s teams are in action on the road tonight.
The women (2-5-1) will play Fraser Valley (0-3-5) at 5:30.
The men (5-4-1) will play UBC (5-2-0) at 7:30.
