North Central athletes combined to win four medals (two gold and two silver) plus 18 top 10 finishes at the B.C. high school track and field championships in Langley.

Simon Nemethy of Nechako Valley, who trains with the Prince George club, won both the grade eight boys 1,500 and 3,000 metres.

Ryan Gaiesky of D.P. Todd finished second in the senior boys 110 metre hurdles and Lindsay King of PGSS placed second in the junior girls (Grade 9/10) 300 metre hurdles.

–First whipped worst in Prince George Senior Lacrosse. The Westwood Pub Devils ran their win streak to nine this year and 33 going back to last season as they crushed the winless Cowboy Ranch Stylers 19-6.

Danton Nicholson racked up 10 points, including six goals.

In Quesnel, the third place Crossfire edged Northland/Nissan Assault 8-7.

–The Prince George Spruce Kings have added 19 year old forward Corey Hoffman to their roster for the 2015/2016 season.

The 5’9” 165lb Hoffman played last season for the Odessa Jackalopes of the North American Hockey League where he tallied 32 points (including 10 goals) in 34 games. He is committed to Cornell University for the 2016/2017 season.

Hoffman will join the Spruce kings at their training camp which begins August 24th at the Coliseum.
