WHL: 

Prince George Cougars  4  Seattle Thunderbirds  1

The Thunderbirds had started their season unbeaten through nine games, including Friday night’s 5-4 win over the Cats.

Riley Heidt and Koehn Ziemmer posted a pair of points each, and Ty Young made 32 saves.

The Cougars (6-6-0-0) will start a five-game road trip with their third-in-a-row against the Thunderbirds (9-1-0-0) on Tuesday.

BCHL:

Prince George Spruce Kings  2  Wenatchee Wild  1

PG scored a pair in the first five minutes, while Wenatchee added their own goal late in the first.

After that, it was a goaltenders’ duel in which neither backed down.

Jordan Fairlie stopped 34 shots in the win for the Spruce Kings.

The Spruce Kings (9-3-0-1) will start a four-game road trip next weekend with a Friday Night game against the 14-0-0-0 Pentiction Vees.

Canada West Men’s Soccer

Alberta Golden Bears  5  UNBC Timberwolves  0

A historic season comes to an end for the UNBC Timberwolves men’s Soccer team.

This season saw several UNBC players named to Canada West All-Star Teams.

Forward Michael Henman led the country in goals and points and tied the all-time record for single-season goals at 19.

NHL:

Two Canadian teams are in action tonight, the Toronto Maple Leafs are in Anaheim, and the Winnipeg Jets are in Las Vegas.

MLB World Series:

The series is tied at one as the series shifts to Philadelphia for games 3, 4, and 5.

CFL: 

Calgary Stampeders  36  Saskatchewan Roughriders  10

Quarterback Bo Levi Mitchell got in the game for Calgary in the fourth quarter, in what was most likely his final regular season game as a Stampeder.

Mitchell led the Stamps to two Grey Cup wins and is the franchise’s all-time passing yards leader with 32,541.

The BC Lions will host Calgary in the West Semi-Finals next week.
