WHL:

The Prince George Cougars play tonight (Friday) and Saturday against the (3-8) Chiefs in Spokane.

The (7-7) Cougars are 1-1 on a five-game road trip.

BCHL: 

The (9-3-0-1) Prince George Spruce Kings are on the road this weekend.

They visit the (14-0) Penticton Vees tonight at 7:00 and the (7-5-0-1) Salmon Arm Silverbacks Saturday night at 6:00.

The Spruce Kings are third in the nine-team BCHL Interior Division.

NHL:  (Toronto was the only Canadian team idle on Thursday)

Vancouver  8  Anaheim  5

Andrei Kuzmenko (3 goals and 1 assist) and Elias Pettersson (one goal and four assists) led the (3-6-2) Canucks who host the (4-6-1) Nashville Predators Saturday night at 7:00.

BC Elite Hockey League: (BCEHL)

(U18)

The (5-2-1) U18 Cariboo Cougars, who are unbeaten in six, visit the (3-5-1-1) Vancouver North East Chiefs Saturday afternoon at 3:30 and Sunday morning at 10:45 in Burnaby.

(U18 female)

The (5-8-1) Northern Capitals visit the (10-4) Vancouver Island Seals in Chemainus Saturday afternoon at 3:00 and Sunday morning at 8:30.

The two teams played a triple-header last weekend in Prince George with the Seals winning two of the three games.

Canada West Sports:

Michael Henman of the UNBC Timberwolves men’s soccer team is the Canada West Player of the Year.

Henman tied the Canada West record with 19 goals in 16 games.

His total included five game-winning goals and a history-making four hat-tricks.

His coach, Steve Simonson, is the Canada West coach of the year after guiding UNBC to a school-best 8-5-3 record.

The UNBC Timberwolves begin their Canada West basketball season this weekend at the Northern Sport Centre.

The Timberwolves host the Trinity Western Spartans tonight at 5:00 and 7:00 and Saturday at 4:00 and 6:00.

The women take the court first followed by the men.

MLB: (World Series)

Houston Astros  3  Philadelphia Phillies  2

The Astros lead the World Series 3-2 with Game 6 Saturday night just after 5:00 in Houston.

It is playoff time in the CFL.

On Sunday, the B.C. Lions host the Calgary Stampeders in the West Division division semi-final (1:30 p.m.) with the winner to visit the Winnipeg Blue Bombers on November 13th.

The early game has Hamilton at Montreal (10:00 a.m.) in the East Division semi with the winner to meet the Argos in Toronto also on November 13th.
