Warriors down Spruce Kings 4-3, increasing standings lead

The Spruce Kings could not get it done against the team they are chasing in the standings last night.

Three unanswered West Kelowna goals proved to be enough to take the 4-3 win, sending 1222 fans home with a smile.

The game was tied 1-1 after one, Austin Fraser scored his ninth of the season on the powerplay.

Jake Schneider put Prince George up 2-1 at 7:01, but the back half of the period was all Kelowna – scoring three goals in the last nine minutes, including one with 1 second left on the clock.

The loss brings the Spruce Kings to 17-13-2-1, fourth in the Interior Division with 37 points.

West Kelowna improves to 19-10-4-0, third in the division with 42 points.

The Spruce Kings are alone in 4th, but only 2 points separate 4th and 7th in the division.
