WHL:

Prince George Cougars  8  Victoria Royals  1

Seven different P.G. players had multi-point nights and Tyler Brennan made 24 saves, including 16 in the first period, before 1,926 fans at CN Centre.

Caden Brown scored twice while Hudson Thornton, Riley Heidt and Chase Wheatcroft each had a goal and two assists.

The Cougars have outscored the Royals 22-4 in winning all three games this season.

The (20-21-4) Cougars host the (14-30-4-1) Royals again tonight at 6:00.

Prince George is 2nd in the B.C. Division and 6th in the Western Conference, four points behind Everett.

Cranbrook Bucks  4  Prince George Spruce Kings  3

The Bucks snapped a 2-2 tie with a pair of third period goals just 2:15 apart before 2,213 fans in Cranbrook.

The (20-15-2-1) Spruce Kings play at Trail tonight and Salmon Arm on Sunday.

Prince George is 4th in the Interior Division, a point ahead of Salmon Arm.

Their next home games will be Feb 10th and 11th against Merritt.

(U18 male)  

Vancouver North East Chiefs  3  Cariboo Cougars  2  (OT)

The (11-14-1-1) Under-18 Cougars host the (15-9-3-2) North East Chiefs again this morning at 9:00 at Kin 1.

Cariboo is 7th and Vancouver NE is 4th in the 9-team division.

(U18 female)  

The (9-16-3) Under-18 female Northern Capitals visit the (3-23-2) Greater Vancouver Comets this afternoon at 3:30 and Sunday morning at 10:30 in Burnaby.

The Caps are 4th and the Comets last in the 5-team division.

NHL: 

The NHL is into its All-Star break.

Regular season action resumes with six games on Monday, including Vancouver at New Jersey as the (20-26-3) Canucks begin a four-game road trip.

The Timberwolves host the Wolfpack again in their final home games of the season tonight starting with the women at 4:00 followed by the men at 6:00.

The Timberwolves complete their regular season on Feb 10th and 11th at Brandon.

UNBC is 6-11 (12th place women) and 7-10 (11th place men) while Thompson Rivers is (2-15) women and (5-12) men.

The top 12 qualify for the playoffs starting Feb 17th.
