IIHF U18 World Hockey Championship: (in Switzerland)

Riley Heidt of the Prince George Cougars picked up an assist for Canada in an 8-3 victory today (Tuesday) over Czechia.

The Canadian team, with a 3-1 record, advances to the quarterfinals on Thursday

WHL:

Winnipeg Ice  8  Moose Jaw Warriors  2

The Ice won the series 4-2 to advance to the Eastern Conference Final against the winner of tonight’s game which has Red Deer at Saskatoon. The Rebels and Blades are tied 3-3. Saskatoon is trying to become just the third team in WHL history to win a series after trailing three games to none.

The Western Conference Final will open in Kent, Washington with the first two games on Saturday and Sunday.

Both the Kamloops Blazers and the Seattle Thunderbirds are 8-0 in the playoffs.

The PG Cougars have signed 16-year-old goaltender Joshua Ravensbergen to a player agreement.

The North Vancouver product led the BC Elite Hockey League with 15 wins for the U-18 Vancouver North West Hawks.

Aaron Rodgers will be the next QB of the New York Jets.

The Jets acquired Rodgers from the Green Bay Packers in return for a package that includes a conditional second-round draft pick next year that will become a first if Rodgers plays 65 % of the time.
