WHL: 7th and deciding game

Saskatoon Blades  5  Red Deer Rebels  2

The Blades won 4-3, becoming just the third team in WHL history to win a series after trailing three games to none.

The other two are the 1996 Spokane Chiefs (over the Portland Winterhawks) and the 2013 Kelowna Rockets (over the Seattle Thunderbirds).

Saskatoon will play the Winnipeg Ice in the Eastern Conference Final which will begin Friday in Winnipeg.

The WHL Western Conference Final featuring the 8-0 Seattle Thunderbirds and the 8-0 Kamloops Blazers will start Saturday in Kent, Washington.

IIHF U18 World Hockey Championship: (in Switzerland)

Riley Heidt of the Prince George Cougars picked up an assist for Canada in an 8-3 victory (Tuesday) over Czechia.

The Canadian team, with a 3-1 record, advances to the quarterfinals on Thursday against Switzerland (8:30 a.m. PT).
