Seniors needed to represent Prince George area in BC 55+ games

Everything from slo-pitch to cribbage, Zone 9 (the Prince George area) 55+ BC Games organizers are trying to recruit new participants for this year’s competition.

“From our zone, we would like to send 200 at least,” Linda Meise, Zone 9’s registrar, told My PG Now. “Right now there are approximately 70.”

There are a wide array of 28 games, ranging from highly active to played at a table. They are:

  • 8-ball pool
  • Archery
  • Badminton
  • Bocce
  • Bridge
  • Carpet Bowling
  • Cribbage
  • Cycling
  • Darts
  • Dragon Boating
  • Equestrian
  • Five Pin Bowling
  • Floor Curling
  • Golf
  • Hockey
  • Horseshoes
  • Ice Curling
  • Lawn Bowling
  • Mountain Biking
  • Pickleball
  • Slo-Pitch
  • Snooker
  • Soccer
  • Swimming
  • Table Tennis
  • Tennis
  • Track and Field
  • Whist

“We want to encourage people to step out of their comfort zone and try something different,” Meise said. “It is a great way to make some friends and see the province.”

This year’s games will be held in Abbotsford from August 22-26.

Registration for the games closes on June 15.
