Drew Peterson’s hockey journey is now taking him to Prince George.

Today (Tuesday), the American-born defenseman signed with the Cougars.

He was the Cats 164th overall selection in the 2021 WHL Prospects Draft.

Originally from Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Peterson spent the 2022-23 season playing for the Phoenix Jr. Coyotes U16 AAA club.

In his 12 games played, Peterson contributed with two assists.

“While he showed promise during the previous training camp, the focus for Drew was on improving his defensive play. Throughout the course of the hockey
season, it became apparent that Drew was taking his game to a whole new level in a very positive way. His dedication to defending and his growing maturity as a player impressed the
coaching staff,” said Bob Simmonds, Cougars Director of Scouting.

Peterson was coached by former NHL player Dave Ellett.
