Furthermore, the Lethbridge Hurricanes have a new bench boss.
Bill Peters was hired today (Wednesday) following the departure of Brett Kisio to the American Hockey League.
In a release, the league announced Peters completed anti-racism, self-growth and redemption training through Shades of Humanity. He resigned as Head Coach of the NHL’s Calgary Flames on November 29, 2019, after it became public that he had committed an act of anti-black racism involving a former player. The incident occurred when Peters was Head Coach of the AHL’s Rockford IceHogs during the 2009-10 season.
Peters also coached in the KHL in Russia from 2020-2022.
