(Men)

UNBC Timberwolves  3  Fraser Valley Cascades  2  (Sunday)

The UNBC men erased a 2-0 deficit at the half by scoring three unanswered goals in the second half to keep their playoff hopes alive.

The (4-7-2) Timberwolves conclude their regular season with a doubleheader in Kelowna against (3-9) UBC Okanagan on Saturday and Sunday (Oct 21st and 22nd) with both games starting at noon.

BC Elite Hockey League: (at Kin 1)

U18 Cariboo Cougars  6  Vancouver North East Chiefs  5  (Sunday)
U18 Cariboo Cougars  4  Vancouver North East Chiefs  3  (OT Saturday)

The U18 Cougars are 6-1-1 and in a three-way tie for first place alongside the Chiefs and the Valley West Giants.

The U18 Cougars visit the Okanagan Rockets Saturday afternoon at 3:00 and Sunday morning at 10 in Kelowna in the 9-team BC Elite Hockey League.

WHL:

The Prince George Cougars are off until they host the (1-5-2) Kamloops Blazers on Saturday night at 6:00.

Prince George is first and Kamloops last in the 11-team Western Conference.

The (7-3) Cougars, coming off Friday’s 5-4 loss to the Kelowna Rockets, will also entertain the (5-2-1) Medicine Hat Tigers on Sunday at 5 PM.

BCHL:

The (1-3-2) Prince George Spruce Kings have a home doubleheader against the (4-3) Salmon Arm Silverbacks on Friday night at 7:00 and Saturday night at 6:00 at the Kopar Memorial Arena.

The Spruce Kings, who picked up a point in Friday’s 3-2 overtime loss to the West Kelowna Warriors, are last in the 8-team Interior Conference, while Salmon Arm is 5th.

Connor Bedard of the Blackhawks has three points (1G, 2A) in his first three NHL games.

The (2-0) Vancouver Canucks, fresh off Saturday’s 4-3 victory over Edmonton, visit the Philadelphia Flyers Tuesday (3 PM PT).

It is the second stop on a 5-game road trip for the Canucks.

BC Football Conference: (BCFC)

The Prince George Kodiaks concluded their second season in the BC Football Conference with a 40-21 loss to the Broncos in Kamloops.

Both the Kodiaks and Broncos finished with records of 2-8 in the 7-team league ahead of the 0-10 Vancouver Island Raiders.

Prince George lost its last six games.

NFL: (Sunday Night game)

Buffalo Bills  14  New York Giants  9

The Monday Night Game (5:15 PT) to conclude Week 6 of the NFL season has (3-2) Dallas at (2-2) LA Chargers.

CFL: 

The (12-5) B.C. Lions will close out their regular season when they host the (5-11) Calgary Stampeders Friday night at 7:00.

The Stamps are just two points behind the (6-11) Saskatchewan Roughriders for the third and final playoff spot in the West Division.

The league has a pair of games on Saturday in Week 20: (14-2) Toronto at Saskatchewan (1:00 PT) followed by (4-13) Edmonton at (12-4) Winnipeg (4:00).

The Blue Bombers need one more win or a Lions loss to clinch the top spot in the West.

Winnipeg will conclude its regular season with a game in Calgary on Friday, October 27th.
