Youth Mental Health Fair being held in PG tomorrow

Families and students are being invited to attend a Youth Mental Health and Wellness Fair tomorrow.

The event is being held by Foundry PG, Northern Health, SD57, the Native Friendship Centre, Carrier Sekani Family Services, FamilySmart, Intersect, and the District Parent Advisory Council (DPAC).

“Families often don’t know where to turn for immediate support for mental health and wellness support. We are hoping by bringing all these service providers to one place families can easily identify what is available immediately and long-term to help their children cope with the pressures in school and
beyond,” Laura Weller, DPAC chair, said in a release.

Many more groups beyond the event hosts will also be attending the event:

“It’s important to remember that parents and families are not alone, even if it feels like it,” Weller said. “We need to
connect with each other to support the wellbeing of our children and these organizations can help create Plans A through Z to get through a problem.”

The event is being held in the John McInnis gym from 2:00 – 6:30 tomorrow afternoon.
