Simon Fraser Bridge construction delayed, again

The project was announced in January 2022.

It was supposed to be done in the fall of 2022.

Then it was delayed a full year until September 2023, and then October 2023.

Now, the Ministry of Transportation and Infrastructure has told My PG Now they “estimate that the Simon Fraser Bridge will be open to traffic in early December.”

They provided no update on the project’s $20.5 million budget, which has not changed since it was initially set at the start of construction.

According to the Ministry, 18,000 vehicles cross the bridge every day.
