PG Public Library bringing back Homework Help program

The Prince George Public Library is bringing back a program to help students in the City.

The Homework Help programs provides tutors, who are university students, to work with small groups of students in grades 3 to 12 to build skills in English, Math and Sciences.

The free, one-hour sessions, are held Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays, and are booked on a first-come, first-serve basis.

The sessions will be offered both online and in-person at the Bob Harkins, downtown, Nechako, and Hart branches.

“This program has been extremely popular and so well utilized in the past  that we unfortunately haven’t been able to accommodate everyone who wanted tutoring services,” said Library Manger of Communications and Engagement, Jen Rubadeau.

“This year we have opened up more tutoring blocks than last year thanks to the one-time Library Enhancement Grant from the Province of British Columbia.”

PG Fire Rescue crews douse shed blaze that spread to tree

Prince George Fire Rescue Crews responded to the 2200 block of Oak Street early this morning (Wednesday) on a report of an outbuilding fire.Crews were called at 12:45 a.m., and upon arrival, crews found a shed, approximately six feet by eight feet, that was fully engulfed in fire.
