Cash, guns, drugs, and more; PG RCMP Street Crew record busy 2023

It was a busy bust year for the Prince George RCMP’s Street Crew.

According to the police, “nine kilograms of methamphetamine,
two kilograms of fentanyl and two kilograms of cocaine, as well as firearms, body armour, nearly $100,000 in cash, and several vehicles” were taken by the Street Crew in 2023.

They also recovered and returned $1,500,000 worth of stolen goods, including vehicles, electronics, and a wake boat.

The RCMP also said Charges were laid against nine “major drug targets” and dozens of “lower level targets” that they think will carry significant jail time.

Nine major busts were tied to gang conflict within the province, including members from the lower mainland who seem to be trying to establish operations in Prince George.

They said this is commonly done using a short-term rental as a base of operations, landlords are being urged to be extra careful.

One such case led to police action being taken against a criminal organization in the lower mainland, which they said “effectively [suppressed] an illicit drug supply line coming into Prince George.”

According to the RCMP, “The Street Crew unit is comprised of plain clothes police officers specializing in covert policing, who are tasked with disrupting criminality through proactive and targeted enforcement.”
