Harkins reacts to Connolly’s departure

Josh Connolly has elected to attend UBC this fall instead of playing for the Prince George Cougars.

General Manager, Todd Harkins says they still expect a lot out of the team’s older players for the upcoming season.

“We’re very confident that Joe Carvalho, Aaron Macklin and Chase Witala will be able to fill those roles, as far as Josh wanting to go to school we encourage our players to move on in their careers whether it is through pro hockey or education.”

Harkins adds Connolly hinted about going to the CIS at the end of last year, he has until January 10th to return to the club if he chooses.

He was acquired at last year’s trade deadline from the Kamloops Blazers for Marc McNulty.
