Drugs and Weapons charged laid after traffic stop in Fort St. James

Two people are facing drug and weapons charges after a drug bust in Fort St James.

On Wednesday, local police stopped a vehicle on Highway 27 by Lower Road.

The vehicle was not insured and the 26 year old female driver was arrested, while the 33 year old male passenger was taken into custody.

Police searched the vehicle and found heroin, crack cocaine, powdered cocaine, meth amphetamine and marijuana.

Several weapons were also found including bear spray, collapsible batons, knives, brass knuckles and and undisclosed amount of cash.

The female was later released and will appear in court on October 5th in Fort St. James.

The male is still in custody and will be in Vanderhoof court on Monday.
