Spruce Kings end abysmal regular season with loss to Centennials

An abysmal regular season has come to a close for the Prince George Spruce Kings with a 4-1 loss to the Merritt Centennials.

The Centennials treated their 709 fans at the Nicola Valley Memorial Arena to a three-goal second period to open the scoring.

Carter Hesselgrave’s first of the season was the lone goal for the Spruce Kings 4:50 into the third period.

The Centennials added one more in the final minute.

The Spruce Kings finished at the bottom of the BCHL’s  Interior Division standings, and will  play the Penticton Vees in the first round of the BCHL playoffs.
