PG Fire Rescue respond to a pair of blazes

It’s been a busy start to the day for Prince George Firefighters.

Just after 4 o’clock this morning (Tuesday), crews responded to a commercial structure fire along the 1300 block of 5th Avenue.

Smoke and flames coming from the alley behind the multi-unit. No occupants were in the building at the time of the blaze.

Damage is estimated at $150,000 and the cause is under investigation.

No injuries were reported to firefighters or bystanders.

At 9:30 AM local Fire Rescue responded to a reported structure fire on the 100 block of Fern Crescent.

Crew from three halls responded and reported heavy smoke and flames coming from the roof on the back side of the home.

Crews quickly contained the fire in the attic space.

Fire damage is estimated at $100,000.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.

There were no reported injuries to either firefighters or bystanders.
