Spruce Kings Show Home hits all-time ticket sale high

They lost the 5-year sold-out streak, but the Prince George Spruce Kings still sold more tickets for their Show Home Lottery than ever before.

That is because this year’s draw had 14,000 tickets for sale, as opposed to the 12,000 for sale in prior years.

Spruce Kings Business Operations Manager Kyle Anderson told My PG Now “Tomorrow (Friday) there is going to be 13,563 tickets in the barrel, one of them is going to be drawn and someone is going to win a house valued at $890,000.”

447 tickets went unsold in this year’s lottery, however, there were still 1,389 remaining as of Tuesday morning.

“The whole last week was really good, a lot of support from all over the province,” Anderson said. “It was a huge response, especially late, and we are so appreciative of that.”

Without the annual lottery, Anderson said the team would have “been gone a long time ago.”

“It literally means everything to our organization,” he explained. “We have great partners, great fans, great supporters, but it is the community that wants in on this lottery that really helps us every step of the way.”

The Spruce Kings spend the most time on the road of any team in the BCHL, Anderson said those costs add up quickly.

The draw will be held from the home at noon tomorrow, tickets were on sale until 10:00 last night.

The Spruce Kings are still selling tickets for their second Mega 50/50 jackpot which is growing rapidly.

The jackpot can grow up to $400,000.
