WHL:

With three assists in three games, Terik Parascak of the Prince George Cougars is the WHL Rookie of the Week.

It is the 6th time this season, the 17-year-old sniper has captured the award.

Parascak leads all rookies with 12 points (five goals and seven assists) in nine playoff games.

He is ranked 15th among North American skaters in NHL Central Scouting’s final rankings ahead of June’s NHL Draft.

It will be a busy start to the WHL Western Conference Final.

The PG Cougars will host the Portland Winterhawks Friday and Saturday in front of a full house of about 6,000 fans.

There will be a short turnaround to Game 3 Monday in Portland.

In the 2-3-2 format, Games 4 and if necessary 5 are in Portland May 1st and 2nd.

If Games 6 and 7 are necessary they will be played in P.G. on May 6th and 7th.

The Cougars will compete in the WHL Western Conference Final for the first time in 17 years and fourth time overall.

The Cougars are 8-1 and the Winterhawks are 8-0 in the playoffs.

The two teams split their four regular season meetings, each winning once at home and once on the road.

Prince George is riding a 5-game home playoff win streak and an overall 9-game home win streak.
