The Lheidli T’enneh suspended councillor John West after being taken into police custody on Friday (26th).
In a statement, the host First Nation said West was arrested by the Prince George RCMP at the House of Ancestors.
The band says it remains unclear as to why he was taken into custody.
Lheidli T’enneh added council will be able to make a more informed decision as more facts emerge.
