WHL:

Portland Winterhawks  4  Prince George Cougars  1

The Winterhawks scored three unanswered goals in the first 10 minutes of the game to chase Josh Ravensbergen from the net after he stopped seven of 10 shots.

Ty Young played the last 50 minutes in the P.G. net and allowed one goal while making 19 saves as P.G. outshot Portland 31-30, including 17-6 in the third.

Borya Valis had the lone goal for the Cougars with just 4:04 left in the 3rd period.

Marcus Nguyen notched a hat trick before 5,608 fans in Portland.

The Winterhawks lead the Western Conference Final 2-1 with Games 4 and 5 in Portland Wednesday and Thursday.

If Games 6 and 7 are necessary they will be played in P.G. on Monday, May 6th and Tuesday, May 7th.
