BC Coroners Service says PG Correctional Centre recorded eight inmate deaths in ten years

Over the last ten years, eight inmate deaths have occurred at the Prince George Regional Correctional Centre.

That’s according to a report from the BC Coroners Service.

It states there were 188 deaths in correctional facilities in the province between 2013 and 2023 – the annual average during this period was 17.

Last year, that number was a little bit higher as 25 inmates died at correctional facilities located in BC.
