WENATCHEE RUNS WILD AGAINST SPRUCE KINGS

The Wenatchee Wild swept both games of a double header against the Prince George Spruce Kings picking up an 8-0 win tonight. (Sat)

The Wild exploded with four goals in the opening period chasing starter Liam McCloskey from the net just 12 minutes into the hockey game.

Jeff Makowski, Joseph Drabin, Brandon Puricelli and Kyle Stephan all tallied in the opening period.

The visitors would then extend it’s lead to 6-0 after 40 minutes thanks to a pair of goals from Dakota Raabe and Tyler Rockwell.

Prince George failed to put up much of a response in the third period allowing two more goals and were out shot 41-23 in the game.

Wenatchee went 4 for 7 on the power play while the Spruce Kings went 0 for 5.

14 players from the Wild had at least one point in the contest.

Alex Brooks-Potts made 28 saves in relief for the Spruce Kings.

The Spruce Kings head out for a two game road trip next weekend with games against the Langley Rivermen and Surrey Eagles.
