A Prince George community cancer group which was founded by a local woman has seen a spike in numbers.
Sarah White and the Peers Supporting Peers – Through Our Journey enjoyed a successful summer.
White says they had good attendance during their meetings.
“Our biggest meeting we had over 20 people and we probably have a core group of 10 to 12 who show up at our meetings which are held every two weeks.”
White says more activities are planned in the future.
“We are going to do more fun activities, some coffee meet-ups, a BBQ and some social stuff just to get people out of the house and hang out with people who get what you are going through.”
They continue to meet at UNBC’s Continuing Care Centre and anyone who wants to join can visit the group’s Facebook page.
