Portland Winterhawks  3  Prince George Cougars  2

Ryan Miller was the hero for Portland, scoring the game winning goal with just three seconds left in regulation.

Viliam Kmec and Hunter Laing scored for the Cougars.

Cooper Michaluk got the start in the Cougars net, making 33 saves.

BCHL:

Prince George Spruce Kings  6  Surrey Eagles  3

Ethan Montroy led the way for the Spruce Kings with a hat trick for Prince George.

Kazumo Sasaki, Ty Paisley and Skogen Schrott also scored for Prince George.

Carter Wishart made 51 saves in the win.

The Spruce Kings are hitting the road this weekend for their first trip to Alberta since the BCHL incorporated five teams from the AJHL.

They’ll play the Okotoks Oilers on Friday, before a rematch of the 2019 Doyle Cup and Centennial Cup finals against the Brooks Bandits on Saturday.

The Kodiaks held on as the Broncos made a late surge in the fourth.

The 3-7 Kodiaks finished the season in sixth in the BC Football Conference standings, while the 1-9 Broncos finish in seventh.

In the first round of the post-season, the undefeated Okangan Sun (10-0) will face the Huskers (5-5), while the Rams (5-5) host the Rebels (5-5).
