WHL:

The Prince George Cougars were on the winning side of a 6-2 game against the Lethbridge Hurricanes last night (Friday).

The Cougars will remain at home to face the Edmonton Oil Kings, with puck drop at 6 p.m.

BCHL:

The Prince George Spruce Kings were on the receiving end of a 5-2 loss against the Cowichan Valley Capitals.

Both teams play again tonight (Saturday) in Duncan at 7.

IIHF Asia Championship:

Prince George Spruce Kings forwards Taisetsu Ushio and Kazumo Sasaki are continuing to lend their talents to Team Japan in the IIHF Asia Championships in Beijing, China.

They lost to Team Korea 1-0 earlier this morning, bringing Japan’s record to 1-1.

Japan will play Team Kazakhstan tomorrow morning (Sunday) at 12.

Ushio currently has a goal and an assist in the tournament, with Sasaki tallying an assist.

Canada West Basketball:

The UNBC Timberwolves women’s basketball team picked up a 68-63 road victory last night against the Fraser Valley Cascades in Abbotsford.

As for the men’s team, they dropped their matchup against the Cascades 89-60.

The teams remain in Abbotsford to face the Cascades tonight, with women’s at 4:00 and men’s at 6:00.
