Local fire crews put out boarded-up house blaze on Norwood Street

A house fire on the 1700 block of Norwood Street that resulted in $150,000 damage is under investigation.

According to the city, fire rescue crews responded to the call just after 3pm yesterday (Tuesday).

Once on scene, firefighters found heavy smoke from the back of the residence and fire coming through the roof.

The building was vacant and had been boarded up, awaiting demolition.

Due to the poor integrity of the structure, crews could not enter the building and had to fight it from the exterior.

No injuries were reported.
