Blackwater Mill sees unplanned shutdown by Artemis Gold

Artemis Gold’s Blackwater Mine is undergoing what the company calls an unplanned shutdown.

It said the site, roughly 160 kilometres southwest of Prince George, is experiencing a production outage due to the failure of a ball mill gearbox that occurred on Wednesday.

While the company has a spare available, the estimated time to complete repairs and restart mill operations is between eight and 10 days.

Artemis Gold said it’ll carry out various maintenance activities that were planned for early Q2 2026, with mining related activities continuing normally.

Q1 production is expected to be lower than originally anticipated, but won’t revise its full year production guidance as it plans to make up for the shortfall.
