PG RCMP seeking information following arrest of a robbery suspect

An investigation is underway by the Prince George RCMP following a robbery this morning (Friday).

Police say they received a call shortly after 10:00 that a financial institution on the 700-block of Central Street West had been robbed, with the suspect leaving the building with a small amount of cash.

Corporal Jennifer Cooper said officers were in the area within minutes, taking witness statements and reviewing video surveillance footage.

“We quickly determined a suspect and located him at his residence, where he was subsequently arrested.”

“He’s currently being held in custody while the investigation continues.”

Police believe the suspect crossed the road following the robbery, possibly discarding a dark-coloured jacket or hoodie underneath a silver Honda that was parked in front of an apartment complex on the 800-block of Central Street East.

Anyone who saw the discarded clothing and picked it up, knows where it currently is, or has more information about the incident is asked to contact the Prince George RCMP at 250-561-3300.
