Police in Prince George investigated multiple threats directed towards Prince George Secondary School last night (Wednesday)
According to police, the reports were made by concerned parents who were hearing the information from students.
“After a thorough investigation, police officers determined these threats are not credible. We are grateful for the many reports we received regarding this situation: this is exactly the type of response we need when parents are given concerning information by their kids,” stated Corporal Jennifer Cooper, Media Relations Officer for the Prince George RCMP.
Mounties were positioned outside of the school as a precaution and to help reassure students and staff as they arrived for class this morning (Thursday).
“We want to assure the public that all threat reports will get the full attention of the School District and the RCMP and will be taken seriously. We also want to remind students that there is no room for jokingly making these sorts of comments to other students or online,” says Sergeant Craig Douglass, head of the Community Policing Unit with Prince George RCMP.
Police have spoken with all those determined to be involved. This investigation is now closed.
