BC Transit offering free rides to cyclists during GoByBike Week

Cyclists are encouraged to take their bike wherever they’re headed this week as part of GoByBike Week.

GoByBike Week is a campaign to encourage people to ride their bikes as much as possible to reduce greenhouse gases and support healthier communities.

Participants can track their kilometres and win prizes through the campaign.

As part of the campaign, BC Transit and the City of Prince George are offering free transit for cyclists this week.

To qualify, transit customers taking part must use the bike rakes on the bus or show their bike helmet when boarding the bus.

BC Transit buses are equipped with bike racks on the front of the bus, making it easier for cyclists to combine the two forms of transportation while covering longer distances, or if weather changes and makes cycling less desirable.

Most bikes can be accommodated on BC Transit buses, but space is limited and cannot be guaranteed.
