Law Enforcement Torch Run raises $1,100 for PG Special Olympic athletes

The Prince George RCMP and local Special Olympic athletes raised $1,100 through the Law Enforcement Torch Run (LETR).

The run, which took place on May 28th, brings awareness to the Special Olympics and its athletes, raising funds for training and travel for athletes.

Corporal Jennifer Cooper said “The LETR is a fun event that we have been participating in for over 15 years, and we have no plans of stopping any time soon.”

“It brings together police officers, support staff, athletes and their families and really highlights our community spirit.”

Mounties also give thanks to sponsors, volunteers, and those who helped support and bring the event to life.

The athletes will be taking part in the 2026 Special Olympics Canada Summer Games in Medicine Hat, Alberta, from Tuesday, August 11th, to Saturday, August 15th.
