Several highway and road resurfacing projects are on tap for the north covering more than 190 kilometres of infrastructure during construction season.
Major projects taking place across the region include key investments along Highway 97 and Highway 27.
Highway resurfacing is underway on Highway 97 between Azouzetta and Mount Solitude, two hours north of Prince George.
This includes 40 km of asphalt resurfacing between Honeymoon Creek Bridge and Big Boulder Creek Bridge.
On Highway 27 and Sowchea side roads near Fort Saint James, 75 kilometres will be seal coated from the junction of Highway 16 to the Stuart River Bridge.
The project is expected to be finished by fall 2026.
Other major resurfacing projects taking place in the region this spring and summer include:
* Upper Halfway Road (53 km)
* Highway 97, Bear Lake to Red Rocky Creek (17 km)
* Highway 16 Kasiks River Bridge to Andesite Boat Launch (20 km)
* Fort George area side roads (20 km)
* Peace district (25 km)
* Highway 113, Big Cedar River Bridge to Sand-Gainor Creek Bridge (13 km)
Roughly $45 million is being invested into resurfacing northern highways and local roads.
