The Prince George Cougars earned a split of their two games in Victoria following a 3-2 shootout victory over the Royals.
Jansen Harkins tallied the winner in the 4th round of the shootout.
First star Tate Olson and third star Chase Witala each notched a goal and assist and Nick McBride made 37 saves for the Cats who never led until the final shot of the game.
The 22-12-1-1 Cougars, who are just a point behind second place Victoria in the B.C. Division, conclude a three game road trip Wednesday against the 13-19-3-2 Giants in Vancouver.

The defending champion Cariboo Cougars evened their record to 1-1 following a 4-2 victory over the Yorkton Maulers at the Mac’s Major Midget hockey tournament in Calgary.
Jesse Pomeroy scored the winner early in the third period to snap a 2-2 tie.
The Cougars play today (Tuesday) against the (2-1) CFR Bisons of Strathmore, Alberta before wrapping up round robin action on
Wednesday against the winless Ontario Avalanche.

The Prince George based Northern Capitals are 3-0 in the female division at the Mac’s in Calgary following a 3-2 victory Monday over the Kootenay Wild.
