Downtown Summerfest returning to P.G. this weekend

Prince George will be bustling with people this weekend, as Downtown Summerfest makes its return.

The event is slated to have activities, food trucks, and vendors, along with a farmers market before Summerfest’s official start.

Downtown Prince George Executive Director Chrisie Berry said the upcoming event will also be free for anyone to attend.

“We’re really excited that we’ve had some amazing sponsors, so for families that want to come face painting, the mini-rail, petting zoo and the balloons are all free of charge to anybody who shows up.”

“Unless you’re buying food or shopping at vendors, this event is completely free for you to attend.”

Berry added bike valet will return for the event as well, allowing community members to have their bikes, wagons, strollers, scooters stored during the event.

Friday will also have a Dinner Under the Stars event, which is a new addition to Downtown Summerfest that Berry said has already sold out.

Downtown Summerfest will be at Veterans Plaza outside City Hall on Saturday, going from 11:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m.

More information about the event can be found on Downtown Prince George’s website here.
