Interchange Recycling announced its 30 Top Collector Awards winners for 2025.
Prince George’s Foothills Boulevard Regional Landfill was ranked 30th on the list for its performance and commitment to collecting used motor oil and antifreeze.
Interchange Recycling said the collected used oil can be re-refined into lubricating oil or material inputs for manufacturing or energy products, with used antifreeze being refined and reused as new automotive antifreeze.
Used oil filters and oil and antifreeze containers can also be used to create other items.
The northern capital wasn’t the only community in the north to win the award, with Williams Lake (7th), Fort St. John (10th), Terrace (18th), and two Quesnel locations (15th and 27th) were also named in the top 30.
Interchange Recycling said its criteria for the award includes the amount of used oil and antifreeze collected, number of years participating in its public return facility program, and continued support of Interchange Recycling and other recycling stewardship-related programs.
