Indoor walking resumes at CN Centre while some facilities close for winter

A handful of Prince George facilities will be closing for the season this week.

For parks, gates and public washrooms, the following facilities will be closed as of the end of the day on Friday:

  • Masich Place Stadium,
  • Beach Volleyball Facility,
  • Rainbow Park Outhouses,
  • Carrie Jane Grey Park,
  • Connaught Hill Park and Gate,
  • Lheidli T’enneh Memorial Park Washrooms,
  • Duchess Park Washrooms
  • All Sports Fields.

The following facilities will also close following the first significant snowfall of the season:

  • Jumpstart Multisport Courts
  • Nechako Riverside Park and Outhouses

In addition, drinking fountains around the City’s parks, as well as the Lheidli T’enneh Memorial Park Spray Park were turned off and winterized as of October 9th to prevent freezing.

While some activities are coming to a close for the winter, others are just getting started. Earlier this month, indoor walking resumed at the CN Centre.

Indoor walking operates on a free drop-in basis from 8:00 to 5:00 p.m., with some exceptions.

Unless otherwise noted, walking is available on Prince George Cougars game days from 8:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.. Walking will also be closed on event days, as well as for the set up and clean up of those events. It is also closed on stat holidays.

A calendar for indoor walking at the CN Centre can be found here.
