Prince George continues to be the home of the lowest gas prices in all of BC.
Senior Petroleum Analyst for Gasbuddy.com, Dan McTeague says anything well below 80 cent mark should last for a while.
“I think the lower prices will last for the next few weeks but come the third week of February all bets are off because refiners down south have to go through maintenance and spring clean-up.”
McTeague adds drivers should be in good shape until the country goes through an inventory change during the spring.
“We all know at the end of March or the start of April Canada shifts to a more expensive gasoline which helps combats warmer weather but that is still a couple of months away.”
Gas prices in Prince George has dropped 10 cents over the past couple weeks.
Costco currently has the lowest in the city at 75.9.
Prince George has not seen such a break at the pumps since 2007.
