Prince George Public Library accepting nominations for Jeanne Clarke Award

The Prince George Public Library is accepting nominations for the 32nd annual Jeanne Clarke Awards.

Communications Coordinator, Amy Dhanjal explains how the honour all came about.

“The awards were established back in 1985 in memory of Jeanne Clarke who was a public library board chair but she was also important in the fundamental and founding of the library’s local history collection.”

Dhanjal adds a well-known author has the taken the honor more than once.

“Trelle Morrow is a three-time winner of the award for various publications, most recently, he won 100 Years of Architecture in Prince George.”

The Jeanne Clarke Awards is presented to someone or multiple people who have made a significant impact on local history in the categories of service or publication.

The deadline for publications is set for January 6th.
