Capitals lose and tie one against Vancouver Island

The road has been a difficult place to win lately for the Northern Capitals.

During the first two games of a triple header against the Vancouver Island Seals the Caps played to a 3-3 draw on Friday followed by 3-2 loss on Saturday.

Both teams were tied at two a piece after the opening 20 minutes with Caily Mellott and Mya Ziemer scoring for the Capitals.

Brianna Leachman and Meagan Bouveur replied for VI.

The Seals carried a 3-2 advantage into the third thanks to a Maryna Macdonald marker.

Danielle Corrigan scored the lone goal of the final frame earning the Capitals a tie.

During game two, Anika Block scored the winner for the Seals on Saturday giving Vancouver Island a 3 out of 4 possible points in the weekend set.

Yannick Truter and Katie Ferguson also potted goals for the Seals while Braxtyn Shawara and Caily Mellott replied for the Capitals.

Game three is set for Sunday.
