Timberwolves WBB swept by Cascades, MBB picks up a pair of wins against UFV

The UNBC Timberwolves women’s basketball team dropped to 1-7 during the Canada West season after falling 75-63 against the Fraser Valley Cascades.

The T-Wolves were outscored 26-11 in the fourth quarter by UFV getting outrebounded 48-31 in the process.

Vasiliki Louka led UNBC with 22 points.

UFV’s leading scorer was Kayli Sartori with 20 points which included an 8 for 19 performance on field goals.

On the men’s side, the Timberwolves made it four straight wins on Saturday to improve to 4-4 tackling UFV 76-70 in Abbotsford.

Terrace product Marcus Mackay notched 26 points in 31 minutes of action for UNBC.

Manny Dulay led the Cascades in points with 22, 15 of those came from three point range.

5th year player Rhys Elliott didn’t dress for the Timberwolves.

Both varsity teams are back in Prince George next weekend when they entertain Thompson Rivers.
