“It was fast, it was so fast” – Evacuees in Prince George tell their stories

We’ve mostly been focused on bringing you information about the wildfire situation in the province; updates on fires, evacuation alerts and orders, air quality and road conditions.

We have let you know how you can help, where to donate, who needs helping hands, and where you’re better off staying out of the way.

Meanwhile, our colleagues on 94.3 The Goat and Country 97 FM have been fielding calls and visiting our local emergency centres and speaking to the people who have fled their homes.

These are the people who need your help and we thought you’d like to hear from them.

NOTE: These audio files have been lightly edited.

There are so many more; More than 3,300 people have already registered at the emergency reception centre at CNC.

If you’d like to help, the Canadian Red Cross British Columbia Fires Appeal is one of the most direct ways to do so.

The City has also set up a Volunteer Centre at the Conference and Civic Centre.
