The 2-3-2 Prince George Cougars continue a five-game homestand when they entertain the 1-4-1 Calgary Hitmen tonight.

The Cougars are win-less in their four home games this season, but they have earned at least a point in each of their last four overall games.

PRINCE GEORGE SPRUCE KINGS:

The Prince George Spruce Kings have acquired 18-year-old defenseman Luc Salem from the Brooks Bandits of the AJHL in return for future considerations.

The five-foot-nine forward, who is from Los Angeles, had three assists in eight games this season with Brooks.

He notched 24 points in 32 games last season playing for the Anaheim Jr. Ducks U-18 team.

Salem will make his Spruce Kings debut on Wednesday when they host the Merritt Centennials.

The Cariboo Cougars are in fifth place in the 11-team BCMML with a record of 3-2-1 following the doubleheader sweep of the Greater Vancouver Canadians.

The Major Midget Cougars host the North Island Silvertips Saturday at 4PM and Sunday at 10AM at Kin 1.

UNBC TIMBERWOLVES:

The UNBC Timberwolves men’s soccer team is 4-5-5 after a pair of 0-0 ties against UBCO.

The UNBC men are in fifth place in the Canada West Pacific Division where the top four teams advance to the playoffs.

They host 4-6-2 Fraser Valley Friday and Saturday at 7PM in their final regular season games.

The UNBC women are 2-7-1 following a couple of 1-0 losses to MacEwan.

The Lady Timberwolves are tied with Thompson Rivers for the 6th and final playoff spot in the Pacific Division.

Six of the eight teams advance to the post-season.

The UNBC women visit 3-4-3 Manitoba Friday and 1-7-2 Winnipeg Saturday before closing their regular season at Thompson Rivers Saturday, October 21st and at UBC Okanagan Sunday, October 22nd.
